Shania Twain is a damn fine woman. Her pictures speak for themselves. But when you read about her life, you realize what a remarkable person she really is.

Shania started singing in bars when she was 8 years old. She would get there after midnight, and sing until the people left. She used the money she earned to help her family live.

How someone would let their 8 year old hustle in a bar with drunks is beyond me. But the fact that, even at that young age, she had the courage to do it speaks volumes about her character.

When both of her parents were killed in a car crash, she took care of her younger siblings and raised them on her own. She did this while pursuing her music career.

Any idiot can luck into some looks. But looks combined with talent and determination are exceedingly rare. Shania overcame incredible odds to achieve fame and fortune. Everything she has, she earned and deserves. If she was as fat as a cow, she'd still be remarkable for the things she's achieved.

Luckily for us, she's not :)
